The University of Hull was founded on the philanthropy of two local benefactors, Thomas Ferens and GF Grant. To this day, it continues to pursue its charitable purposes, which includes providing support to its students through the alleviation of hardship and the promotion of welfare. Graduates, staff and other supporters have always played a key role in enhancing that provision through their generosity and kindness.

BOOST aims to take us a step further – through crowdfunding and mass participation we aim to support students and staff to pursue their projects and inspirational ideas, using their creativity, knowledge and entrepreneurialism in order to flourish. By providing support and encouragement through BOOST we can help students and staff to get the best out of their experience at Hull and to take their ideas and learning to the wider community.’
